Visit the majestic twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, truly a hidden gem and a must-see when travelling in Rwanda. These two fresh water lakes are separated by a 1 kilometer stretch of land produced by an eruption of the Mount Sabinyo Volcano. They are located half-way between Musanze and the Cyanika border to Uganda and can be reached in approximately 30 minutes by car.

Activities at the twin lakes include boat tours to visit the many islands, hiking the lush hills around the lakes with views of the surrounding mountains, picnicking, fishing, and swimming.
